The smoky eye, ponytail and mostly-black ensemble I’ve been sporting since fall is feeling pret-ty drab. And after seeing all of the spring-like looks on the red carpet Sunday — did you see Rachel McAdams’ gorgeous floral gown and glowing skin (loved!) — I am starting to think it’s time for a fashion and beauty overhaul. But before I bare my arms (not to mention my  Read More →

It is now becoming more apparent that men’s skin care needs to be addressed just as much as women’s skin care. These include body washes that thoroughly clean and remove odor, but do not strip the skin of natural oils, and shaving...

I got a massage last week and it got me thinking about a possible connection between massage and acne. My thoughts: Benefits of massage: Reduced stress: I was a puddle of relaxation after my massage–completely content. We all know that mental stress and acne can be related. Massage has been shown to calm the adrenal gland (which is activated during times of stress), a sure fire way to bring that stress under control. This is especially...

It’s a good thing I’m not famous. Forget that I can’t act or sing (’cause obviously that hasn’t stopped numerous MTV stars and celebutantes) I also happen to be the least photogenic person ever. And, clearly, as a star, you need to pose for pics and look better-than-good doing it. Just think about how many shutters will be snapping away at the Oscar nominees (see the hairstyles we think they should wear on Sunday...

Sinus headaches occur as a result of fluid buildup in the sinus cavities of the face and head. The excess fluid exerts pressure on nerve endings, causing pain.  Sinus cavities are located in the forehead and nose area of the face. Because of their location, it is not unusual to feel the pain of sinus headaches not only in the forehead, but also under the eyes. The pain can sometimes radiate down to the teeth, which is why what is thought to...

Testosterone is very important to male development . Without it, or enough of it, a young boy will not experience puberty, or will not go through all the stages successfully. Testosterone is a hormone, and, surprisingly, both men and women have it in their bodies. Women, of course, have significantly lower levels. This is because a small amount of testosterone is produced in the adrenal gland. With males, however, the majority of the hormone...
